On August 28. 2024, 50 people attended the Aggie Square Community Engagement meeting at the UC Davis Betty Irene Moore Hall (School of Nursing). Co-hosted by UC Davis, the City of Sacramento, and Wexford Science + Technology, the agenda included a general overview of Aggie Square, updates on recent accomplishments under the Community Benefits Partnership Agreement such as affordable housing investments, housing stabilization program outcomes and the first meeting of the Aggie Square Community Partnership. Next, Travis Sheridan, Wexford’s Senior Vice President and Chief Community officer provided an overview of innovation and entrepreneurship at Aggie Square including physical space at Connect Labs that will support early stage startups and the programs that will serve both Aggie Square tenants and the larger regional community. A question and answer session offered a chance for attendees to learn more. Finally, regional innovation and entrepreneurship programs introduced themselves to the audience and an open house provided ample networking opportunities.
